About us

Our Principles 

We have tried to establish a number of principles on which the business is run:

Providing great value: We never aim to be at the high cost end of the market, but always the high value and lower cost end of the not for profit market. We deliver our best value when we understand our client’s business inside-out by adding in a wealth of data that puts our work into context.

Syndication works: We bring together not for profits with a common research and understanding need into a syndicate and deliver better value than they would ever get working on their own.

Productisation works: Our aim is to transform as much of our project as we can into products or packages so that we can do similar projects repeatedly, which keeps our costs and fees down and gives clients the benefits of comparability with other similar research results.

Transparent fixed pricing: We keep our monitor prices fixed and transparent. We offer discounts for clients who buy multiple services and we offer a discount (of £2,000 on any monitor) for clients who do project work with us (worth more than £5,000). We don’t charge more if we think prospective clients won’t care or won’t notice.

20% is free to air: We aim to spend 20% of our time and energy on reports, research and service that is free. This includes not only our recent reports on branding, new technology, lobbying and innovation but also our roles as trustees, mentors and public speakers.

nfpSynergy and our people

  • Our rule of thumb is that we give at least 25% more than the statutory minimum on all employee benefits.
  • We also set aside for each employee a pot of £500 to put towards a passion in their personal life: the dance course they always wanted to do, their child’s football kit (Joe’s choice) or whatever they wish.
  • Each member of staff is entitled to a bonus at the end of the year, related to the company’s profit. This year it came to an equivalent to 10% of salary.
  • We are signed up to the payroll giving scheme and we match the donations of any staff member.
  • We budget for each staff member to have £1,000 of training each year.
  • Each member of staff gets taken out to lunch on their birthday
